Zebra Mildliner brush pen review

Zebra Mildliner brush pens are a brush pen brand following on from the popular stationery choice Zebra Mildliner highlighters. In this post I'll be breaking down my thoughts on this brush pen.

Are Zebra Mildliner brush pens user friendly?

The answer is - it depends! There are more user friendly brush pens such as the Pentel brush pen, but they are a beginner friendly brush pen for a medium tipped brush pen.

I was surprised that the pens were firmer than expected, I thought they would more like a flexible and difficult to use.

How big are Zebra Mildliner brush pens?

I would describe the Zebra Mildliner brush pens as a medium tip brush pen. Due to their size, I would recommend these as the next step up from brush pens such as Pentel Sign brush pens and Tombow Fudenosuke brush pens.

This size of brush pen works well when bullet journaling, card making and creating wall art.

How much are Zebra Mildliner brush pens?

At the time of writing this post, you can purchase a pack of 15 brush pens for £15 over on Amazon. You can also get a smaller 10 pack of brush pens.

Zebra Mildliner brush pen colour range

I did a video review of the 10 pack which showcase the colour range. The pack I covered includes all of your traditional rainbow colours except they are either more muted/pastel version of them, or they are neon versions of them.

Zebra Mildliner Brush Pen Colour Options

This brush pen colour palette was unique but to be honest, I wasn't personally a fan of the colour range. I felt that the neon colours felt like a random addition into the colour palette and they should have omitted these to stick to the muted palette.

Inkiness

One of my main criticisms of the Zebra Mildliner brush pens is that they don't feel very inky and lead to some of the colours feeling weak and speckled, rather than the opaque colours you would want to see.

Additional features

Zebra Mildliner brush pens are dual tipped. One has the brush tip, which I've predominantly referred to, and the second side is a felt tip end which creates a satisfying thin stroke.

The pack also comes with an easel case. This is so that you can prop up the pack to easily grab colours. However, I found it flimsy and difficult to use, and it's just as easy to access the pens without it.

Zebra Mildliner Brush Pen Pack

Conclusion

I would rank the Zebra Mildliner brush pens a 6.5 out of 10.

They are user friendly for beginners but the colours leave something to be desired. I did enjoy using the felt tip end, but that shouldn't sway my opinion too much given that this is a brush pen review after all.
